This version of our demo website is designed to show what we call the Updater - a form-based way to present news, sports and other information elements that is simple for the station people to input and allows great flexibility in output. (Click here to see the basic version.)
The Updater Technology
To post a story online, the "reporter" logs on to a special password-protected form. (See Image 1)
From the menu (Image 2), the reporter chooses the type of information to add. This brings up the related sub-menu (Image 3), where the reporter enters the Title (headline), the Text (story) and the Priority.
When the reporter clicks on the "Add Story" button, the story is added to the database. The story is then fed to the front page of the site (if it's a top-three priority) and to the page of its category (e.g., News, Sports, etc.).
